Microsoft’s Adaptive Keyboard is one cool stuff to type on

August 16th, 2010

When Microsoft sells some stuff, many complained about it. But when they don’t sell some, others rant over how they should mass produce it. Well this is one of the limited stuff that only a few students will get their hands on, unluckily for you and me. The few lucky students participating in this year’s UIST Student Innovation Contest will be given free rein to do whatever they like with the keyboard, and possibly be rewarded with some few grand for their hard work and effort.

The keyboard itself is basically a large piece of touchscreen panel on top that ‘extends’ to the keys below – opening up a while range of possibilities for different configurations and other shenanigans. Sadly, that’s the only part that they though worthy of mentioning. No other information given. Well at least there’s two demo videos for you to drool over it.
