Buffalo has had a long list of products when it comes to external hard drives. Their new entry however, would easily sell itself as an Eco-Friendly product. Measuring 39mm x 123mm x 189mm and weighing 1kg, the HD-LBU2 is the latest addition to Buffalo’s extensive external hard drive line-up. This new 3.5-inch drive has a USB 2.0 interface and can be installed horizontally or vertically. The important feature is that, the drive also comes bundled with the Eco Manager software for reducing power consumption by lowering the rotary speed of the platters when idle. The HD-LBU2 will go on sale in mid-August in four different storage capacities including 500GB ($133), 1TB ($169), 1.5TB ($219) and 2TB ($269).
