iTunes 9.2.1 for your update pleasure

Looks like Apple’s in a software update frenzy lately. It was not long ago that iTunes 9.2 hit the download page to enable iPhone 4 syncing. But then, this 9.2.1 feels more like what 9.2 should be. Perhaps they rushed the 9.2, and continue developing on the 9.2.1. For such a small update, the changelog sure is long.

iTunes 9.2.1 provides a number of important bug fixes, including:

  • Disables older versions of some incompatible third-party plug-ins
  • Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items
  • Addresses a performance issue when first syncing to some devices with iTunes 9.2
  • Addresses an issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod touch with encrypted back-ups
  • Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance
  • Allow users to organize apps on the iOS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes
  • Organize and sync PDF documents as books
