Remember Tony Stark’s transparent smartphone? Well there are some very smart people out there, that go further a distance and done something to have the ‘similar’ effect.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S, you can download Samsung’s custom Android app called Road SMS. It’s a simple text messaging program, but instead of the usual backdrop of your phone, Road SMS displays a live video feed from the rear of the phone behind the UI.

In other words, the phone simulates a window rather than providing a mere screen. It’s a neat idea, but will probably burn your phone’s juice very fast. But I sure won’t mind that, to occasionally have some funky times while texting. Getting the transparent feel, yet having the privacy to myself. Nice!

Note: The iPhone also has a similar app named ‘Type n Walk’, and another ‘Email n Walk‘.
