iPhone 4 comes with yellow discoloration bands and spots, number of cases proved a serious defect.

Worldwide early adopters of iPhone 4 have stated that their new glossy phone’s Retina Display is displaying a yellow coloration in the screen. Besides users from the States, editors of Engadget from Japan have also faced similar issue. Apple will be willingly exchanging a new set for those who face this yellow tint defect, but the numbers of users affected seemed to be staggering despite such early stage of release. Apple has yet to comment on this issue.

Besides the yellow discoloration issue, the new iPhone 4 is also facing signal issues with how many bars are shown on screen. Some even speculate that this is affected by how you hold the phone, as the aluminum band around the phone is actually the antenna of the phone. Apple has voiced out regarding this signal bar issue, and addressed it as “the way the bars are presented, not the actual ability to make a call,” and promised that a fix is on the way.

Looks like not all news are sweet for the amazing new iPhone 4, which is rather expected for early adopters.

Apple has indeed already commented on this. It is due to the bonding agent used in the glass. These units are being shipped straight out of production to meet demand and the bonding chemicals have not yet had time to fly dry. According to Apple and the maker of the bonding agent, the yellow patches will go away in a few more days if the unit is actively used.
