Not to be left out in the battle, MSI has also announced their version of the slate system, known as the Windpad. The WindPad 100 is slightly different from Asus’s EeePad, hardware wise and software wise.

This time, Engadget reports live from Computex, and we got more spec details than Asus’s EeePad. Unlike Asus, this WindPad is running on Intel’s Atom 1.6GHz Z-530 processor. What’s odder is that this baby is running on Windows 7 Ultimate! MSI has also embedded their own app called the “Wind Touch UI Layer”, much like how HTC integrated their Sense UI into the Android phones.

Besides the front webcam, there are also 2 USB ports, and a HDMI port. Prices are expected to hit SRP of $499.
