This “flat bulb” is designed by a Korean designer Joonhuyn Kim. Its volume is 1/3 smaller than ordinary bulb, reducing cost of packaging and transport. As you can see the bulb is flat instead of round, this allows the bulb to be easy stack and prevent breakage as it does not roll. This concept was shown as the part of 100% Design Tokyo exhibition.
