Samsung E200, W510, F268. The Environmentally Friendly Phones

Samsung has released a new environmentally friendly phone with made of to recycled electronics products. Samsung has been putting effort on developing more renewable and eco-friendly material compared with common plastic produced from petroleum. This is the new E200 is made from ‘bio-plastic,’ which contains natural plant-based materials extracted from plant such as corn. Yeah, it even packed in a non-coated recycled paper box. There are two more eco-friendly mobile phones after the break.

For gathering end-of-life mobile phones, Samsung offer pre-paid postage label to consumers in USA. Anywhere in USA, consumers print this label and send used mobile phone with label. Gathered used mobile phones will be delivered to recycling company.

Another two eco-friendly phones will be the W510 and the F268. The W510 is Samsung’s first mobile with ‘bio-plastic’ made from natural materials extracted from corn. There are no heavy metals, such as Lead, Mercury, and Cadmium were used in the production. While the Samsung F268 is the first BFR / PVC free mobile phone. F268 and the accessories including the chargers and headset do not contain any BFRs(Brominated Flame Retardant) or PVC. To minimize the power consumption, Samsung has added in an alerts function that reminds people to unplug their charger once the battery is fully charged.
