Bill Gates said a teary goodbye to Microsoft

Bill Gates logs off at Microsoft on Friday with a teary goodbye. He is the one who built the valuable technology company based on the ambitious goal of placing a computer on every desk and in every home. He stepped away from his full-time executive role at Microsoft to focus on his philanthropic organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest charity. However, he will still work part-time, joining Chief Executive Steve Ballmer on stage to deliver a short speech and field questions from employees.
“There won’t be a day in my life that I’m not thinking about Microsoft and the great things that it’s doing and wanting to help,” said Gates, who wiped away tears as the group of employees rose to give him a standing ovation.
He is once the world’s richest man. According to Forbes Magazine, Gates personal fortune has been estimated at about $58 billion. Wow!

Many wonder what will happen to Microsoft next, yes Bill will still be Chairman but after Vista’s many blunders is this the right time for Bill to step away from active duty? Lets see if he makes a return (I don’t think he’ll be able to keep away) and hope Windows 7 does not fall suit with Vista.
