Nissan GT-R ECU Gets Cracked

April 11th, 2008

Powered by 3.4L V6 with two turbochargers, boosts from 0-60 mph in 3.5-seconds. achieving a top speed of 193mph (310 kph), the Nissan GT-R is said to limited to a puny 112mph (180 kmph) by a ‘uncrackable’ speed limiter, which could only be delimited when entering circuits via a GPS link and Nissan did assure customers that the encryption on the ECU was very sophisticated and difficult to crack, but somehow the U.S.-based COBB tuning managed to cracked the speed limiter.

According to COBB tuning, it is currently undertaking in-house testing and by the time the GT-R reached the US, they will be well prepared and practiced in the art of tuning the GT-R’s ECU.
