Samsung Electro has developed the world’s first 8M CMOS camera module for the cellphone. It has a CMOS sensor and this 8M camera module measures only 10.5 X 11.5 X 9.4mm. It also supports auto focus. Meaning to say it can still maintain a small form factor similar to the size of current 3M camera phone while offering the performance of 8M camera phone. Samsung gives credit to Peizo technology for this invention and the CMOS modules will be in production next year.
