iPhone goes on sale in Europe

Apple iPhone fans in Germany and Britain has lined up to buy the iPhone yesterday. In Germany, there are more than 700 T-mobile shops selling it including one in Cologne that opened just after midnight with some 350 customers already waiting outside. By 5p.m, the Deutsche Telekom AG which owns the T-mobile has sold more than 10,000 iPhones in Germany through the shop and online stores. O2 the service provider for iPhones in Britain, said it that they would not release the number of handsets sold Friday. In the central London, excited shoppers have flooded Apple’s largest store waiting for the iPhone to launch at 6 p.m. The first buyer was a 20-year old architecture student Tom Jasinski who waited for 26 hours. He said that, it was worth the wait. For France, they will need to wait for few weeks as France Telecom will sell the iPhone in France through Orange starting 29th November. Apple said that, they hope to sell 10 million iPhones in 2008, helped by its launch in Asia next year.
