Telstra Australia plan to launch the iPhone

According to MarketWatch, the Telstra Corp (Australian telecommunications) had talk to Apple about launching the iPhone in Australia next year. The company spokesman said that they currently testing the device.

“We have been testing the iPhone as we would any device that comes into the country,” said a Telstra spokesman, adding no decision has been made.

Apple would have to produce an iPhone compatible with Telstra’s Next G network, which operates at 850 megaHertz frequency and needs specialized handsets, Trujillo told the Telegraph.
