Test Ride: 2008 Dodge Viper

The 2008 Dodge Viper boasts an 8.4L V10 engine that generates 600hp and 560 lb-ft torque. In this Edmunds’ Inside Line video, they took the Viper out for a road test. Video after the jump.

The engine comes with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)-shaped combustion chambers, larger valves and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT electronically adjusts when the exhaust valves are open and closed according to engine speed and load, allowing the engine to breathe cleaner and more efficiently.
