Chopsticks to New Biofuel

August 26th, 2007

In Japan, the government has announced plans to use the wooden chopsticks as biofuel. There are about 90,000 tons disposable chopsticks are discarded in Japan every year. Ethanol-producing plants in Osaka and Okayama are expected to start converting these oily choppers into wood pellet fuel soon. Interesting, this is the use of disposable chopsticks. What is next?
