The next generation iPhone is said to be announced in spring next year at Macworld. Rumors said that the iPhone will be released with GPS update. Apple is certain to use a chipset via Assisted GPS technology, which cuts down the time needed to determine a location using GPS.

A-GPS is needed in urban areas with tall buildings or locations with heavy tree cover. It helps the device for a fast satellite fix by getting some help from cell phone towers
