Monster the Robotic Drumming System

Matthew Webster, John Vernon, and ShengZhu Wu, a group of college students created a robotics drumming system called Monster for their final project. They’re using general MIDI, allowing connection to MIDI controllers (keyboards etc) and also sequencer software (Cubase SX or Pro Tools etc). Let’s see how it works…

The Honda Civic Si sedan

The Honda Civic Si sedan, the production of this Honada Civic will arrive at the 2006 SEMA trade show on this coming Oct 31 till Nov 3. It was previewed with a concept version of the car during February at the Chicago Auto Show. It sports a 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000 rpm redline boast 197-horsepower, mated to close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission. Pricing of this car is expected to top $20,000. Samsung SCH-B570 World’s Largest Storage Handset 8GB

Samsung announced its 8GB music phone the SCH-B570. This is the world’s largest storage capacity for a handset uses a built-in 8GB HDD. It is also a DMB TV phone and supports PIP. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, TV Out, 5.1 Channel stereo sound and CDMA 2000 1XEVDO connectivity. The unique feature of this phone which everyone likes is that you can shake it to turn-off the integrated Alarm Clock, it is called the “motion recognition capability”. SCH-B750 measures 112 x 48 x 19.9 mm (4.4×1.9x.78inch) and will be released in Korea by the end of this month priced around $800.

Motorola Tattoo Phone

This coming Christmas, Motorola will start selling its “laser-etched tattooed” versions of its RAZR which is designed by the tattoo master artist Ami James of the hit TV show “Miami Ink”. There will be couples of designs for you to choose, one of it is dragon (pic above). I agree with slash phone, it will be great if we can submit our own design to Motorola for small fee if not we will have the same boring design like others.

Iomega 320GB eSATA hard drive

Iomega has begun its first external hard drive in shipping. The external hard drive equipped with an eSATA port for direct connection to a PC’s Serial ATA bus, the storage specialist announced this week. No worries if you ain’t got a eSata because Iomaga’s bundling a suitable PCI add-in adaptor. The drive also comes with a USB 2.0 port too. eSATA connects at 1,500Mbps compares USB 2.0 top speed of 480mbps or Firewire’s to-line rate of 800 mbps. Iomega offers a 320GB unit based on a 7,200rpm drive with 2MB of cache memory. The drive packs with suitable cables for both Mac and Windows user. It retails for $240 in US.
