The 440 HP Brokernet Silver Sting Sports Car

May 4th, 2006

Can you name anything that is made in Hungary? Please tell me this is just a model car and not a real one. The Brokernet Silver Sting is hoping to change that. Its the latest entry in the race to create the perfect supercar and a pretty darned nice looking one, too.

They intend to prove that even a Central European country that has no connection at all to cars in most peoples minds can create a work of art on wheels. It might not be perfect yet, and may need a bit of refinement before it is ready for worldwide consumption, but its probably the best Hungarian supercar you can think of off the top of your head.

The car popped into the mind of Hungarian racer and car fiend Kalman Bodis seven years ago, but was only unveiled last weekend at the first Budapest luxury car show. Under the hood is a Porsche 911 GT3 3.6 liter engine and a flat-six drive train that kicks out 437 horsepower. The Porsche connection makes sense because the German company has a manufacturing plant in Hungary. Bodis plans to race his creation soon.

to start off with, i have to say that this article is a perfect example of just how little the world knows about Hungary.. to say something such as ‘a Central European country that has no connection at all to cars in most peoples minds’ is complete bollocks as at least 90% of families own at least one car in Hungary. Besides this, Budapest has been the host to the a luxury car exhibition in both 2006 and 2007. Further more, I can tell you that Hungarian inventors have designed the first working helicopter, the biro and the carburettor (which again is pretty damn useful for cars).. so before you make some derogatory statement about a country you dont even know, please do some research..
