HOW-TO: Gmail as Personal File Server

Want to have a Gmail drive on your computer? With just a Gmail account and of course an internet connection, you will have extra few gigabytes of storage for free. You can use it as a central file server that is accessible from anywhere you can access Gmail. You can store any files but as long as its not more than 10MB each. This is not illegal, dont worry. Learn how to do it after the jump.
This will install a shell extension that will allow you to mount your Gmail account as a virtual drive on your desktop, so you can perform basic file manipulation operations without having to go through the web-based interface. Drag and drop, batch copy, create folders and delete files as you normally would in Windows Explorer, and be able to access your virtual drive from virtually anywhere.
You need to download a Gmail Drive Shell Extension and install it on your computer. It stated on the download page that you should need an Internet Explorer 5 or more, just ignore that. It wont effect anything. After installation, just click on the Gmail drive inside your “My Computer”, insert your gmail account information (username & password) and tara~ You are done! Enjoy it!
